M-4 Faisalabad-Multan Motorway

Prime Minister of Pakistan perform the inauguration of the first phase of M-4 (Faisalabad-Multan Motorway) on Wednesday August 19′ 2009. First phase of M-4 is, 54 kilometers from Faisalabad to Gojra the remaining three phases are, Gojra to Shorkot, Shorkot-Khanewal, and Khanewal to Multan, and it will be completed in three years. Construction work would be started simultaneously. The expected cost of M-4 project is around Rs.40 billion.
The completion of Faisalabad-Multan Motorway (M-4) will provide a short access to Multan and other big cities. This will be a four-lane motorway with a six lane structure, which can be converted to six lane whenever needed. The total length of the Faisalabad-Multan Motorway is 233 kilometers which has been divided into four sections of Faisalabad- Gojra section (58 kilometers), Gojra-Shorkot section (61 kilometers), Shorkot-Din Pur-Khanewal section (65 kilometers), and Khanewal-Multan section (65 kilometers), whereas, two large bridges will be constructed on River Ravi and Shadhnai Channel.
It is a great decision by PRIME MINISTER GILLANI to make the Motor Way for NULTAN.
Please also mention name of company to whom contract is given.
It is also better to make M4 in phases.

Its too late start!!.. It should have started long time ago.. In Nawaz Sharif times motorway project was initiated and very quickly it was being implemented. Whole country would have been connected with motorways if Nawaz Sharif could have stayed longer. Motorways and highways are basic infrastructure required for progress of the country. PPP as always is just busy in looting and doing nothing else.
this project should have started earlier in 2003-04.joining the heartlands of industrial hubs of pak M-4 links multan faisalabad, and provides the short distance for the people of multan khanewal toba tek singh, and faislalabad district and divisions as well.shortcut for sindh and lower punjab district to reach capital terrirtory of pak. morover providing job opportunities to peoples from these areas beside industrial development. good luck M-4 and pakistan. this chain of motorways should not be stopped it should reach at earliest from peshawar to karachi
Any update when this project will start. After inauguration in Aug, 2009 I haven’t heard anything.
Salam. it is a good to link Multan with Islamabad through Motorway But govt should built dames first to generate electricity and for irrigation of oyr useful land otherwise all these projects will be worthless. Thanks and ALLHA HAFIZ.

I am from Faisalabad and near the initial stage (starting point) of M4. Very honestly 10 months has passed to inauguration but nothig in paractical. Acctually 1st pahse of M4 (Fsd~Gojra) should be near to finalize but nothing is in paractical work. I think it was a project to get the commision which they got.
THE PROJECT IS LAUNCHED BY THE PM IS A GREAT PROJECT AND SHOULD BE COMOPLED AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. BUT STILL IS NOT ANY PRACTICAL WORK STARTED. IT IS MY GREAT AND HUMBLE REQUEST TO COMPLET THE M4 WITHIN 2 YEAR AS WORKED IN OTHER COUNTRIRS.
I am B-Tech (Hons) in Civil Technology and have 10year experience of Civil Construction work mostly Hydraluc Structure ( Fall/Bridges) and want to work on this mega project of M-4 Faisalabad Multan motorway.

I heard about the motorway M4. This is really a great project that will help my city to groom economicaly and also use ful for people who are suffering by poverty. No doubt it is a great project.
I am so found of the construction of motorway that i daily visit the site of motorway Gojra section. A am anxiouly wating of completion of this Ssection so that i could travel on it from my own city. May ALLAH help them.
Assalam O Aliakum.Today i went to Gojra Interchange(M4)which is underconstruction and i saw that the construction of m4 is not going on fast as it have to be.So i request you to construct it as fast as you can because the route from Faisalabad to Gojra is very insecure (robery and accidents are at high trend).So it had better to construct it as fast as you can…

Salaam, Glad to know that M4 Motorway is under construction. Concerning the payments and the acquisition of the land-, please don’t be upset because the construction will not take place until they make payment to the land owners. The authorities already have completed their survey, and it seems like the rate of the land is established based on their formulas.
What I have heard that there are people out there claiming that they can get the farmers more money than the rate established by the authorities. Please don’t fall into those people traps. If you are one of the landowners or farmer whose land will be part of this project, please discourage these people. I have heard people are giving 10% or fixed amount per acre to get the good land price or to expedite the payment process. The reason I know is that I have some relatives that actually paid money under the table to “Patwari” & “Tahsil Daar” in Toba to get an expidiate payments. Since I have some land that comes in this project they suggested me to do the same. As a muslim & pakistani I am reluctant to pay bribe. After little research I did obtain some info that the authorities will not start construction until they make payment to the land owner whose land is part of the Project. So if your land is part of this Project please dont worry about the payment process, it will be safe, secure and it will be transparent.
Also I heard that the Interchange of the M4 will be in Chak no. 303 (Khatore) which is on the right side of the Jhang Rd when coming from Gojra.
Furthermore, if someone knows more information regarding the whole process, please share it online.

Please intimate landowner where the motorway will be made to claim for payment of land. The claim will be free of charges and immediately on deposit of application proforma.
please intimate the where the application form will be available in Website of national highway authority/motorway. Is it free of cost provided to land owner in Motoway.
How many Interchanges will link the city of Jhang??? and how far??? if anyone can help me in the matter kindly.

A.O.A: If anyone has gone through the Land Accusation Process please help the landowners by highlighting the requirements and documentations they need to establish their ownership. If any N.H.A or any official Motorway representative reading this comment I would request him to help all landowners by publishing the basic information or direct us to the official web link that has the application and relative details needed to claim the money. By putting this information you may helping the poor landowners in the rural areas from money hungry wolves out there who are promising the poor landowners to get more value on the land if they pay certain amount to them . Which I am sure it is not the case, all the rates are predetermined and these middle men cannot do anything to exaggerate the price. Any contribution you make will impact landowners and this information will be considered a great resource to anyone who is searching the information online.

Multan – khanewal motorway section M-4 is not fair alignment. powerful people change the direction of M-4 . Now M-4 is not passing through their agriculture land. I you see the map then u will know whats going on.
