17 June Blackout

Karachi suffered from a massive blackout on June 17′ 2009. 75% + city was out of power for hours. People faced total power outage and water supply problem caused by this huge blackout. Other factors were critical situation in hospitals because OTs were out of working order due to load shedding, traffic jam on roads as the signals were off, eve people spent night on roads with old citizens, women and children slept on footpaths that night. KESC published a clarification note on Newspapers for presenting the inside story as above.

This is a Message for everyone “Please do not use high electricity consuming equipment i.e. A.C., Washing Mashine and Iron etc between 7:00PM to 11:00Pm in evening time to save energy/electricity.”
